Laboratory of Pollen Biology
Laboratory of Pollen Biology at the Institute of Experimental Botany of the Czech Academy of Sciences studies regulatory mechanisms active in the control of gene expression in three research groups at different levels:
1) genome organisation and stability
2) transcription regulation - during male gametophyte development
3) translation regulation and mRNA storage - in pollen and pollen tubes
Experimental model plants for our research are
1) Arabidopsis thaliana
2) Nicotiana tabacum
3) Physcomitrella patens,
mostly their gametohytic generation
