Abstrakt: Flow cytometry is a unique method combining a powerful analytical capability to measure simultaneously many optical parameters of cells and subcellular particles, with the potential to isolate purified populations of selected particles. Because of this the method became popular in plant sciences. The most frequent application involves estimation of DNA content. However, the method has been used also to analyze chloroplast, mitochondria and chromosomes.
