Abstrakt: Seeds represent a plant developmental stage of key agronomic value. Developing seeds undergo a series of contrasting physiological environments, some of which are accompanied with spontaneous and/or programmed DNA damage. Here, we review recent literature illustrating emerging evidence on the importance of maintaining genome stability during the complex life of a seed.
