Abstract: Abstract. The relationship between the water potential (~w) and the water saturation deficit (~ Wsat) in kale and maize leaf tissue was measured during dehydration and resaturation either of leaves in eitu or of cut leaves. The curves relating ~w to A Wsat were similar in all variants, hut at the same values of A Wsat corresponding values of ~w were always lower in leaves in situ than in cut leaves and during dehydration than during resaturation.
